Try It Night Parties

Try It Nights are designed to give a sneak peek into the world of wheel throwing and hand building. Participants will join owners Natalie and Andi in a 3 hour class. In this time Andi will help particpants create a hand built project and Natalie will let particpants try their hands at wheel throwing. After creating their own hand built piece and picking a glaze color we will glaze and fire the piece for you. This piece will be picked up at a later date. All wheel thrown pieces are made just for the fact of learning the skills and won't be finsihed (clay will be recycled). Class size is limited to 6 - 8 people. Fee: $50.00 per particpant.

To participate in a Try It Night you must have a group of 6 to 8 people. Please contact us for more information. Try It Nights are great for a girls night out gathering, bridesmaids outing, couples events, etc.

Comments from recent Try It Night Participants: "Thanks to Natalie and Andi for a great evening! Such a class act!", "Had a great time!", "We're still all a buzz about it and it's been a week since the class!"

The mission of The Potter's Obsession is to develop and promote excellence in the art of pottery. The Potter's Obsession's goal is to provide quality teachers in a fun and educational atmosphere for the enhancement of skills in the medium of clay. This is achieved by providing classes, workshops, and a gallery dedicated to the sale of unique and beautiful clay works.

In 1992 The Potter's Obsession was opened by original owner Judy Thompson in the old "Martin City" district. In 2007 Andi Hestand joined in as a partner with Judy and the shop moved to it's current location at 13035 Holmes Road, just north of Blue Ridge Boulevard in Kansas City, MO. In 2011 Natalie Thomas joined in as a partner with Andi while replacing Judy in her retirement. Both Andi and Natalie have a long history with the studio. They both started their pottery careers by taking classes at The Potter's Obsession many years ago. The Potter's Obsession continues to be a successful venue for artists and patrons of the arts.
