The mission of The Potter's Obsession is to develop and promote excellence in the art of pottery.  The Potter's Obsession's goal is to provide quality teachers in a fun and educational atmosphere for the enhancement of skills in the medium of clay.  This is achieved by providing classes, workshops, and a gallery dedicated to the sale of unique and beautiful clay works.

In 1992 The Potter's Obsession was opened by original owner Judy Thompson in the old "Martin City" district.  In 2007 Andi Hestand joined in as a partner with Judy and the shop moved to it's current location at 13035 Holmes Road, just north of Blue Ridge Boulevard in Kansas City, MO.  In 2011 Natalie Thomas joined in as a partner with Andi while replacing Judy in her retirement.  Both Andi and Natalie have a long history with the studio.  They both started their pottery careers by taking classes at The Potter's Obsession many years ago.  The Potter's Obsession continues to be a successful venue for artists and patrons of the arts.
